WETA EPIC MINIS - Labyrinth (1986) - Jareth
WETA EPIC MINIS - Labyrinth (1986) - Jareth
There will never again be anybody as cool as David Bowie. So, take guy known as The Thin White Duke himself, pair him with George Lucas and Jim Henson, and WHAM! Instant classic! Well... sort of. I think this movie flies under the radar as a really cool nerdy classic. Sure, the special effects don't really hold up after 40-ish years, and there are a few cringy moments... and there is the whole "nobody wants to talk about" topic of David Bowie's lack of Goblin King underwear... Still- the story, the characters, the music is super-memorable and I think these figures capture the mood perfectly!
In my experience you either love this movie or hate it- and if you're like me and you fall in the LOVE IT category- guess what! Ta daaaaaa!!

Super-stylised and ultra-expressive, this cast of characters was created by Weta Workshop's collectibles team, a dedicated crew of artists, technicians, craftspeople, and producers, all relishing the chance to distil oodles of personality into a small EPIC package.
The results speak for themselves. That knowing sparkle in those eyes; you didn't think it got there by accident, do you? Tilt your head a little to the left and you might just catch a wink.
Endlessly collectible. Totally adorable. These pint-sized figures have BIG personalities.
“The first thing Mauro and I do is sit down to come up with a concept that truly captures the soul of the character. We want each pose to evoke a feeling of nostalgia and love for the individual characteristics of the Mini Epic – to speak to you on a level that adds to your experience of the film.”
