ABOUT US:

Brass Dragon Games is a games store located in Mount Juliet, Tennessee right outside of Nashville.  Currently, we are operating online and in pop-up markets and events around Middle Tennessee.  Our goal is to introduce, and in some cases, re-introduce more and more people of all ages to the joys of tabletop gaming with friends and family.  As self-proclaimed nerds, we also offer a multitude of fun collectibles from the worlds of gaming, comics, movies, and television.  Think of us as a geek boutique!

Once Upon A Time...

Founder Trey McCampbell started playing Dungeons and Dragons in about 1982, with friends from high school, and played a legendary campaign that lasted well into college years.  Then he abruptly took about 30 years off from playing... As in, he didn't roll a d20 from 1992 till the pandemic of 2021.  He was off doing his grown-up, "corporate America" thing, getting married, having kids, playing music on the side and lost sight of his inner nerd who loved and lived for adventure around the tabletop.

When his kids got into Stranger Things, they asked their dad, "Say, didn't you play D&D in high school?  We'd like to learn how to play."  His answer?  "Yes, children.  Yes, I did.  I can teach you the ways of the d20 and the saving throw." Being the kind of dad he is, he ran out and picked up a D&D 5E Starter Kit, some dice and a few figures.  Through his kids, he re-discovered his love, re-kindled the passion and basically caught the bug to play again.

In the years since the pandemic, Trey noticed that more than ever before, people love to congregate and play together; not just D&D and other role-playing games, but party games, strategy games and card games.  There is a kind of magic in pretty much any game that brings people to a table to hang out, have fun, and lose their troubles for a little while.  In fact, people's troubles seem to be mounting in this crazy world we live in, so that time around a table with friends playing together is more important than it has ever been.

Trey has also noted, aloud, to anyone who will listen, that there has never been a better time to be a nerd.  Having grown up in a time when dragons, wizards, super-heroes, and things like that were not mainstream, much less the subjects of blockbuster movies and television shows, he knows that these days, it's pretty darn cool to be a bit nerdy!  Mainstream culture seems to currently favor geek culture...  There's a good chance even your grandparents probably know who Iron Man and Harry Potter are.

At Brass Dragon Games, we believe that good friendships can begin easily when people of potentially very different backgrounds find common ground.  Gaming and the love of nerdy things can be that common ground.  From there, strong friendships can become strong community.  From that strong community, can become a stronger, better world.

Now, along with his friends, a smart-aleck wizard and a brass dragon who loves lively conversation and good, friendly competitive games, Trey's company Brass Dragon Games is on a mission to make a positive change in the world. They're creating a fun and connective environment through face to face tabletop gaming.
